February 5 – iFIT
On Wednesday, February 3, Nevin had a second interview for a remote position with iFit in Logan, Utah. We were excited, but trying not to get our hopes up. On Thursday, February 4, they offered Nevin a position and on Friday, February 5, Nevin accepted the offer. As soon as paperwork was completed (we were told that typically takes about 1 week), he could start, which put his start date on his birthday, February 15. Unfortunately, being the small town that State College is, they had to send his drug test somewhere to be evaluated which took much longer than expected to get the results. So, on Thursday, February 18 Nevin started his first day at iFit. Having Nevin working downstairs has been great so far. I love that he can come up and see the boys throughout the day. I definitely miss having him around all the time and so do the boys, but the time we do have with him is even more special now. Due to the time difference (Logan, Utah is 2 hours behind us), he has to work until 6:00 at least 2 days per week, sometimes more. This is a big change because he used to be home from Minitab around 4:15/4:30. We are adjusting to the new schedule nicely and are looking forward to what’s to come.
Here is Nolan celebrating with olives on all of his fingers:
February 9 – Fireman Boots
Spencer gets Nolan’s fireman rain boots and brings them to me, holding them up saying “uh, uh”. So, I put them on his feet and his tries to walk around. It’s adorable and hilarious at the same time!
February 12 – Nolan’s First Valentine’s Day Party
Nolan woke up at 3:30 AM with a 103.6 degree fever on the day of his Valentin’s Day party at school. I gave him medicine and he went back to sleep. When he woke up for the day, his temperature was down to 99. I felt bad that he missed his first ever Valentine’s Day party at school, but he didn’t really know what he was missing. Since I signed up to bring a treat, I dropped that (brownies with pink icing and valentine sprinkles) and his valentines off in the morning and told his teachers that he wouldn’t be coming. Later that day, while the boys were napping, our doorbell rang. It was Nolan’s teacher, Mrs. Park, with his bag of valentines from his friends at school. He was SO excited and that totally made his day.
February 15 – Daddy’s 31st Birthday
Nolan helped me make Daddy’s birthday cherry pie. After eating his favorite dinner (ham, scalloped potatoes, and steamed broccoli), we sang and enjoyed the pie with ice cream. Even though Daddy was anxiously awaiting the start of his new job, he still enjoyed his birthday at home with us.
February 21-29 Fun at Home

February 26 – Bubbles, Bubbles, Everywhere
It was pretty cold and I didn’t feel like taking the boys anywhere (plus I still wasn’t feeling 100%), so I filled up containers with water and dish soap, gave them each a straw, and let them blow bubbles. They had fun with the bubbles, but then Spencer started to dump the water everywhere so it was time to clean up.
